Three Antique Brass and Wood Picture Hook Covers / Mounts / Buttons - 1800's Elaborate Made in France brass and wood assortment.

For those new to this idea these picture hook covers were used to cover the nail or screw on the wall above a picture or frame. The wire or ribbon to hang a picture was seen above the picture or painting. To cover the nail these bronze or ormolu buttons were used to cover the nail on the wall. It is still an attractive idea and looks quite nice above a small painting or photograph hung on the wall.

Dating from the late 1800's these fabulous picture hook covers are in good condition.

Have a patina commensurate with age and use.

The reverse is fitted with a little sleeve which will slot straight over the picture hook adding that touch of French chic to any picture or mirror

Three (3) Brass and wood buttons.
The large oval wood button with decoration in middle measures 10 cm by 13 cm or 4 inches by 5 inches.
Oval medium sized button made of wood measures 10.7 cm by 8.5 cm or 4 1/4 inches by 3 3/8 inches.
Thin tin button is 12 cm by 8 cm or 4 3/4 inches by 3 1/8 inches in diameter.
