Four SUPERB ANTIQUE FRENCH PICTURE HOOK COVERS

For those new to this idea these picture hook covers were used to cover the nail or screw on the wall above a picture or frame. The wire or ribbon to hang a picture was seen above the picture or painting. To cover the nail these bronze or ormolu buttons were used to cover the nail on the wall. It is still an attractive idea and looks quite nice above a small painting or photograph hung on the wall.

Dating from the late 1800's these fabulous picture hook covers are in good condition.

Have a patina commensurate with age and use.

The reverse is fitted with a little sleeve which will slot straight over the picture hook adding that touch of French chic to any picture or mirror

Four brass buttons.
The art deco silver coloured button on original card with little spike to hang picture and button measures 3.3 cm or 1 3/8 in diameter. Thin metal.
Bow button is 4.7 cm by 6.2 cm or 1 7/8 inches by 2 1/2 inches. Heavy brass.
Small art deco button is 4 cm in diameter or 1 1/2 inches. Thin brass button.
Large button is 5 cm in diameter or 2 inches in diameter. Heavy brass.
